I love music and have a soft spot for Tom Waits and Nick Cave. Following Norwich City Football Club provides a roller coaster of emotions, but when that isn’t going particularly well my young son provides the real entertainment. I also like to get in the kitchen when possible to rustle up my speciality jerk chicken!
I lead our fundraising recruitment at Peridot Partners. I’ve delivered key roles for major national and international charities including: Directors of Fundraising for Carers Trust, Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Mencap, Action for Children, Right To Play and The Animal Health Trust.
I’m very proud of the work completed for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, including recruiting an Associate Director, Philanthropy to deliver a £70m capital appeal, and my work with start-up charities including The Felix Project to build fundraising infrastructure and capacity. I’ve worked closely with the International Rescue Committee UK to recruit a range of roles over the last three years, and was thrilled to see their fantastic team win the IoF’s Fundraising Team of the Year award.
I’m also passionate about increasing the numbers of professional fundraisers on Trustee Boards, and have worked with Chairs and CEOs to attract first time Trustees with expertise in income generation.
Talk to me about:
“I secured an exciting position thanks to the professionalism and guidance provided by Peridot Partners. They are one of those rare recruiters in the market place that genuinely take the time to get to know their candidates by understanding your skills, your experience, your qualities and what you are looking for in your next role.
As you’ll know, there are lots of recruiters out there to choose from, but it’s rare to find one that genuinely provides a highly professional service placing importance on quality and not quantity – whether you’re a candidate or client, I couldn’t recommend Peridot highly enough.
Simon, massive thanks to you this past couple of months. I’ve so genuinely enjoyed getting to know you and appreciate all you’ve done to help me secure this role.”
