With over a decade of experience in education recruitment, Phil Gifford specialises in supporting schools and colleges with recruitment and executive search solutions. His career began in the UK’s independent schools sector, where he worked across a broad range of appointments, partnering with boards, CEOs, headteachers, HR directors, and proprietors. After leading a team of consultants and managing a business unit in London, he transitioned into executive search, where his focus continues today.
His portfolio spans a global landscape, from flagship international schools in Europe and the Middle East to not for profit institutions in Africa and across Southeast Asia. Alongside his international work, he has also maintained strong ties to the UK education market, working with some of the country’s most recognised education brands. Phil also offers expertise in EDI and has spoken at conferences on practical measures schools can deploy to widen talent pools and recruit more diversely.

A recent move from London to the countryside brought him one step closer to a long-held ambition: restoring a classic car. He’s pre-emptively purchased the manual for a vintage MG… the car itself will follow in time.
