At Peridot, Gabby works in our Marketing Team, specialising in events and community engagement. She brings a background in education, events and student engagement, with a particular interest in creating opportunities that help people connect, learn and build confidence.
Gabby began her career in higher education, completing an Events Apprenticeship alongside organising events, workshops and extra-curricular activities. Her work focused on giving students opportunities to develop transferable skills and feel more prepared for life beyond university.
When COVID-19 hit, Gabby moved into the university’s HR department. While it was not part of her original career plan, the role gave her the opportunity to develop a new set of skills and a deeper understanding of how organisations support and develop their people. She gained experience she continues to draw on today, particularly in communication, organisation and understanding the needs of different people.
Before joining Peridot in July 2026, Gabby worked for a group of further education colleges. She began in a team supporting students to gain work experience, develop their CVs and build the confidence they needed to take their next steps into the workplace. She later moved into the central marketing team, where she led the events programme, bringing her career back to the area she had always enjoyed and wanted to develop further.
Gabby is motivated by work that brings people together and creates opportunities for people and organisations to grow. She enjoys getting to know people, understanding what matters to them and creating events and experiences where people can have useful conversations, share ideas and build lasting connections.
Outside of work, Gabby enjoys going to the theatre, spending time with her dog and getting involved in fundraising. She regularly raises money for charity and enjoys organising fundraising events, bringing people together around causes that matter to them.
