About The Windsor Forest Colleges Group

Central to our future strategy of The Windsor Forest Colleges Group is our shared belief that we will always do what is best for the delivery of education and skills for our students and our region whilst safeguarding the best practice and culture within our organisations.

The merged college group will consist of four colleges that foster specialist, distinctive General Further Education (GFE), Sixth Form and land-based curriculum.  We will invest to develop the specialisms at each campus and create local, affordable, progression for our students.

We are people focused, with strong leadership and governance and an ambitious agenda for partnership, growth, and quality improvement.  The colleges within the group will grow and support students and employers from their own position of strength and will benefit from shared expertise.

For the next three years, our strategy will focus on four key themes of growth, quality, inclusion, and financial resilience. We have worked with our Board of Governors to agree the following priorities for the Group:

Langley College

The Vice Principal Curriculum, Adults & Apprenticeships will be based at Langley College.  Langley College is the heart of innovation and technology within our Group, where there is a strong focus on the development of specialised technical and professional education. At Langley College, we are proud to provide exceptional teaching and learning in state-of-the-art facilities using industry-standard resources.

Langley College has invested in its facilities and these investments have paid dividends, as demonstrated by outstanding outcomes in a range of courses such as motor-vehicle, hair and beauty, information technology and business.

Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA)

BCA will join the Group on 1st August 2022 and will be the primary base for our new Vice Principal Curriculum, Quality & Innovation.

BCA is a further education college with a land-based specialism and has as many general further education students as it has land-based. With many specialist areas, BCA has an outstanding reputation for sports, land-based provision and foundation learning.

We are ambitious for our future and seek to appoint two Vice Principals who will report directly to our Principal for Further Education.

Who we're looking for

Vice Principal Curriculum, Adults & Apprenticeships (Langley College)

The Vice Principal Curriculum, Adults & Apprenticeships will oversee a range of technical curriculum areas whilst also leading the development and growth of both apprenticeships and adult education. With a broad delivery portfolio, candidates will need to have a deep and thorough understanding of apprenticeships and adult education, as well as T-Levels.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of quality improvement, as this will be vital in helping ensure that the college secures its status as the ‘go-to’ provider for skills-based education locally.

Vice Principal Curriculum, Quality & Innovation (BCA)

The Vice Principal Curriculum, Quality & Innovation will bring a well-rounded experience in leading high-quality teaching and learning, planning and delivery.

Experience of short-course provision and maximising opportunities for both learners and employers would be beneficial so that we can further meet the needs of the new Skills Bill and the development of our community and employer engagement. To this end, we need our Vice Principal Curriculum, Quality & Innovation to be able to demonstrate excellent employer and stakeholder engagement.

Appointed candidates into both Vice Principal roles will be joining a dynamic and collegial group of FE and sixth form leaders who share in the positive culture of the Group. This provides opportunities to not only share expertise but to learn new techniques from peers which benefit each college, whilst driving forward the collective growth and success of the Group as a whole. Through these close relationships, we will then continue to create improved outcomes for all our students and our local communities across Maidenhead, Windsor, Slough, Surrey and West London.

The Board is very positive about the future of our Group and the colleges that form it. The merger will bring significant benefits to our students; clear specialisation including comprehensive pathways to high-level technical and professional skills facilitating greater progression opportunities for students and employers.

Our new Vice Principals will play a key role in the successful integration of the merger, focusing on the quality of the experience for all learners. The Vice Principals will be members of the Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Principal for Further Education.

To succeed in this role, you will bring a range of relevant skills and experiences gained in a senior leadership position in the education/skills sector. You will know what a great student experience looks like and what it takes to drive quality improvement. You will have the ability to drive curriculum innovation to ensure we are responding to the policy environment, and you will have a deep commitment to delivering first-class student outcomes.
