Resilience Multi Academy Trust is looking to strengthen its board by appointing Trustees to support the continued growth and development of the Trust.
Resilience Multi Academy Trust (RMAT) stands at a definitive inflection point. Following a comprehensive strategic rebrand in 2025, The Trust has developed into a cohesive, values-led organisation, bringing together schools and communities across four local authority areas. Our mission is anchored in a unique “Resilience Curriculum”, a pedagogical commitment to character development that impacts every learner across the Trust.
We are looking for three Trustees to provide oversight as we navigate a period of significant organisational evolution and growth. We specifically require specialists in Finance, Audit, and Risk, alongside a dedicated lead for Safeguarding. We welcome applications from individuals with experience across a broad range of professional disciplines, including those with direct expertise in these areas or with relevant transferable skills.
The board prioritises strategic impact and transparency. You will support the Trust in orchestrating a future defined by financial stability and educational excellence. This is an invitation for non-executive leaders to apply commercial acumen and ethical rigour to a mission of genuine social provenance.
RMAT is a values-led family of schools united by a passion for improvement and a belief in education’s power to transform lives.
Our growth has been built on strong partnerships with schools that share our ambition to create inspiring places where students love to learn, colleagues thrive, and communities can be proud of their schools.
While each of our academies is firmly rooted in its local community, together they benefit from the strength, expertise and support of the wider Trust.
Our approach combines high expectations and a traditional focus on behaviour and discipline with innovative curriculum design, exceptional teaching and genuine professional freedom. We encourage colleagues to be creative, to learn from one another and to continually develop their practice.
Above all, we are ambitious for every young person we serve, creating the conditions in which students and colleagues can grow, succeed and fulfil their potential.
As a Trustee, you will be providing strategic leadership, oversight and constructive challenge as RMAT continues to develop and grow. Trustees play a vital role in ensuring the Trust remains focused on its core purpose, delivers an excellent education, and uses its resources effectively.
Working collectively with fellow Trustees and the executive team, you will:
Your contribution will help RMAT strengthen its governance, navigate its next phase of development and, ultimately, improve opportunities and outcomes for the children and communities it serves.
We are looking for thoughtful, committed and strategically minded individuals who share RMAT’s ambition for children and young people. You do not need to have worked in education or held a Trustee role before to be an effective Trustee. What matters is that you can bring relevant professional expertise, sound judgement and the ability to contribute constructively at Board level.
We are particularly interested in people who can demonstrate:
Above all, we are seeking Trustees who want to make a meaningful contribution to RMAT’s continued development and future success.
We welcome applicants from all professional disciplines; however, the board has identified skills in safeguarding, finance, audit and risk as of particular interest. We welcome applicants with executive or non-executive transferable experience in these areas, as well as those from other professional backgrounds.
