Surrey Care Trust is a local charity which improves skills for life, work and learning through mentoring, counselling and education. With a dedicated home-based staff and volunteer team we provide one-to-one programmes which support 3,000 disadvantaged young people, adults and families each year to find confidence, develop skills and become self- reliant. Our ambition is to grow our programmes, extend our reach and develop our volunteer base to enable us to continue to deliver vital work and support to those that need it most. As our next Chief Executive, you will help shape and develop our next strategy and develop our organisational capacity and capability. You’ll also ensure we are showcasing our impact and help us effectively navigate a challenging funding landscape – developing the relationship with our key commissioner, Surrey County Council, and working with our fundraising team to help develop new income streams.

You will be a strong and collaborative leader with a track record in creating cohesive teams, which includes both staff and volunteers; as we are keen to develop our volunteer base, your experience of developing volunteering would be particularly interesting to us.
The ability to devise, develop and implement strategy, balancing both the ability to keep an eye on the strategic overview whilst rolling sleeves up to support operational delivery, will be key. Furthermore, you will be experienced in supporting financial sustainability, diversifying income streams and bring the communication and representation skills to operate as an effective ambassador.
