As Marketing and Communication Manager, you will be able to see the impact of your work within the local community, lifting the profile of this wonderful hospice to gain more voluntary and financial support.

  • Location: Harrow, London
  • Salary: £35K - £38K

St Luke’s Hospice Harrow & Brent have been serving their community since 1987. They provide specialist palliative care services to people living with a terminal illness in the London Boroughs of Harrow and Brent and provide support for their families.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, Retail and Communications, manage organisation wide communications with external audiences with a view to protecting and enhancing the reputation of St Luke’s Hospice as a charitable end of life care provider and employer, increasing awareness of the difference that donors can make and maximising overall supporter engagement.

Your tools will include, social media, local press and website as well as direct mail, working with the DM Manager. You will also have the opportunity to create compelling campaigns of engagement to the local community. You will use newsletters both internal and supporter, creating captivating case studies which inform supporters of the impact their support is having.

Coming from a background in the charity sector, you will have carried out stakeholder analysis and developed and implemented a communications strategy. You will also need experience in working with many stakeholders internally and have good organisation skills to plan activity and manage their expectation within your plan.

St Luke’s Hospice has a very special relationship with its supporters, many of whom have personal experiences and know staff through their own experience of the care of a loved one. St Luke’s serves its community but exist because of the generosity of its community, keeping them engaged can only be done with great communications.
