  • Salary: c.£57,000

*Your contracted place of work will be at our Central London office, but we will support a flexible working arrangement for the right candidate.

Hours: Full-time – currently 37.5 hours per week. We will be piloting a ‘four-day week’ from April 2024.

Employment Type: This post is offered as a fixed contract of 12 months with the possibility for extension subject to funding.

Who we are

A4S was established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales, “to help ensure that we are not battling to meet 21st century challenges with, at best, 20th century decision making and reporting systems“. Today we work with senior finance leaders including CFOs, investors, the accounting community, regulators and business schools and academia to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.

About the role

The A4S CFO Programme includes the A4S CFO Leadership Network, Circles of Practice and role-based groups. Each of these initiatives brings together CFOs and senior finance team members from some of the largest organisations in the world that are seeking to embed management of environmental and social issues into business processes and strategy. We work with them to share learning and build the capacity of finance teams globally with the aim of accelerating change. These initiatives operate in Europe, Canada, the US and Asia Pacific.

The Senior Manager will sit with the central team and be responsible for the oversight and delivery of key activities and projects that aim to grow A4S’s engagement globally, build member capacity and support CFO and finance teams in embedding sustainability in their day-to-day decision-making. They will focus on providing central leadership around our programme of quarterly meetings with members of the CFO Leadership Network, our engagement with delegates of those CFOs, and our new role-based groups.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how senior individuals and organisations respond to the sustainability challenges faced in the 21st-century.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an individual with a passion for sustainable business, the ability to build strong relationships with very senior individuals and a track record of delivery at the highest level. With 10 years plus experience working in business, finance or accounting, you will also have a strong record of facilitating workshops and meetings, and some experience of networking and business development.

You will be comfortable working remotely as part of a global team, juggling multiple activities to enable efficient, effective, and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

Knowledge in Salesforce or similar CRM systems is an advantage.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Work closely with the CFO Programme Director as well as regional Directors and Heads to shape the overarching CFO Programme strategy, identifying opportunities to grow and maximize impact.
  • Lead the strategic development of the global Circle of Practice Programme (which includes Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand) and the associated regional activities, working with members to develop clear plans and oversee their implementation.
  • Lead the development and delivery of A4S’s programme of meetings with CFO delegates and the A4S Controller Forum.
  • Work closely with the events and communications teams to coordinate the development of regional engagement plans including required content – leveraging insights from the Network, including blogs, articles, interviews, events, podcasts and videos.
  • Liaise closely with the Knowledge and Learning and Capital Markets teams to ensure a joined-up approach, with materials learning and insights shared across activities
  • Provide support where needed to the A4S Academy programme.
