In this newly created role of Executive Director of Business Development & Innovation, you will be working closely with the Chief Executive & Principal and Corporation Board to define and deliver a commercial growth strategy for the new £80m campus which is due to open early 2020. You'll play an integral role in delivering commercial income targets as well and providing effective strategic leadership of the college’s commercial development and enterprise function, including the creation of a new College Development Office.
The newly created role Executive Director of Business Development & Innovation comes at a pivotal time for us, investing in an £80m campus. The role will lead on all commercial activities for Richmond upon Thames College Trading Company.
This is an exciting time to be joining the organisation as we enter a significant period of transformation and capitalise on our reputation for being one of London’s most innovative Further Education Colleges. As a senior post holder and reporting directly into the CEO and Principal, the Executive Director of of Business Development & Innovation will lead on the college’s commercial and innovation strategy including the setting up of a Development Office/Foundation. As a natural and persuasive leader, you will need to identify and attract brands and businesses to partner with for mutual success. This position will play a critical role in maximising income generation from the new campus and identifying new business opportunities through bids and tenders.

We are looking for a strategic and highly driven Executive Director of Business Development & Innovation. The post holder will be part of the college’s Senior Leadership Team and lead on the development and implementation of the commercial business development strategy for Richmond upon Thames Trading Company.
The successful candidate will facilitate the growth of commercial income. A strong and proven track record in securing revenue streams is essential for this role. You will be a natural relationship builder who thrives at networking and events, maximising marketing and PR opportunities.

The post holder will be part of the college’s Leadership Team, leading on the development and implementation of the business development strategy of the college. They will facilitate the growth of commercial income responsive to markets and through existing and new innovative structures, operating models, marketing channels and partnerships. The Executive Director of Business Development & Innovation will also ensure effective student access to our Commercial Business Centres.
The post holder will be a senior executive with a strong commercial background. We are looking for a target focused, values driven individual who can demonstrate highly productive business relationships with a strong vision for utilising college assets to maximise profitability and mutually beneficial outcomes for the college and its customer base.
