AAT is seeking a Product Manager (Short Qualifications) to own and drive the strategy for their portfolio of awarding body products and services with focus on short qualifications.

  • Location: Hybrid / Canary Wharf – 1 or 2 days per week in the office

About the role

As a Product Manager for Short Qualifications within the Products & Services team at AAT, your primary objectives revolve around managing the complete lifecycle of a portfolio of short qualifications to support the awarding body offer.

Reporting to the Product Director, you will collaborate with colleagues across AAT to develop and drive the product strategy. This involves responsibility for existing products, ensuring timely developments, supporting sales and marketing plans, and meeting retention and income targets. The focus is on identifying and maximizing market opportunities, developing clear value propositions, coordinating market insights, and maintaining up-to-date product knowledge.

Your responsibilities encompass product lifecycle management, involving the end-to-end management of products and services within the portfolio. Collaboration with specialists, co-creation with members, and development of product strategy are key aspects. Product scoping involves defining member and market requirements, contributing to new product development, and working on support services. Insights play a crucial role, requiring the development and maintenance of high-quality market knowledge, monitoring trends, and using data to identify growth opportunities. Financial and project management involves reporting on financial performance, contributing to budgeting, and ensuring all projects are managed to agreed quality, timescales, and budget.

In summary, the role involves strategic development, lifecycle management, and financial oversight of a portfolio of products and services, ensuring they align with AAT’s objectives and remain relevant to members and customers. Collaboration, market insights, and financial acumen are essential components of your responsibilities.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate must excel in product/qualification development, demonstrating proficiency in project management and scheduling and a strong understanding of vocational education. Essential attributes include excellent written and spoken English, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in financial management and negotiation.

Experience-wise, the candidate should have a proven track record in strategy development, new product management, and handling complex project schedules and budgets. Familiarity with education regulators and accreditation is desirable. Alongside relevant qualifications, the candidate should be a strategic and creative thinker, possess a positive ‘can do’ attitude, and exhibit a practical self-starting approach with a high degree of initiative. Ownership, results-driven focus, professionalism, teamwork, and strong customer orientation are essential attributes.
