About the role

Responsible to: Principal Gifts Manager
Location: London

The International Rescue Committee UK is part of the IRC global network, which has its headquarters in New York and London. The IRC is on the ground in more than 40 countries, providing emergency relief, relocating refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster. Through 22 regional offices in cities across the United States, the IRC also helps refugees resettle in the US and become self-sufficient.


The Principal Gifts Executive will:

  • Deploy original and creative thinking to deliver high-class cultivation and stewardship, to the IRC’s highest value and most impactful donors and prospects, both in partnership with the Principal Gifts Lead and through account management of a discreet prospect portfolio
  • Work closely with the Principal Gifts Manager and the research function to undertake research such as network mapping to identify new prospects
  • Lead on grant management, reporting and proposal development for new and existing Principal Gifts funded programmes
  • Collaborate proactively with a network of internal and external senior stakeholders, garnering their support and influence in the development of Principal Gifts relationships
  • Contribute to profile raising of the IRC’s Principal Gifts programme and the IRC more widely through proactive networking and external engagement with potential donors and their advisors
  • Proactively collaborate with other members of the Philanthropy team, supporting the delivery of the wider Philanthropy strategy as required.
