Certsure has huge potential in an industry with an exciting future. We are recruiting a new Managing Director to lead the next phase of our growth.
Certsure is looking for a Managing Director who will understand the power of the NICEIC brand and put the organisational pieces in place that will enable the brand to maximise its potential for Certsure and its owners.
Ensuring the safety of commercial trades and domestic electricity users across the UK should motivate you as much as leading the commercial development of what Certsure does.
The owners may at times be working to different agendas and objectives, so the need to be politically astute and work closely with the interests of the parent organisations Electrical Safety First (ESF) and Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) is essential to ensuring that their aspirations are delivered through Certsure. At the same time, you’ll be measured on driving the growth and development of Certsure itself.
With the need to continue to deliver commercial success, as well as value for its owners and stakeholders, you’ll demonstrate that you understand what it takes to build a successful business with turnover between £50m and £150m. This could have been gained in a membership, qualifications, awarding or training business, or from a commercial spin out venture from a public institution with a similarly complex governance environment. Evidence of your ability to work skilfully with boards and external stakeholders is critical.
An appreciation of certification, commercial & consumer standards, safety and professional training & development is desirable, although it’s your approach to leading people and your track record of driving commercial success that will set you apart.
If you have a different background your motivation and values will need to align to supporting registrants, and you’ll show concern for the safety, success and development of the electrical trades as professionals.
Whatever your background, the opportunity to support greater success for the electrical sector, individuals and small businesses will be a legacy you can look back on in the future and be proud of.

has huge potential in an industry with an exciting future. Electricity is at the heart of the climate change agenda, low carbon transportation and with the rise of electronic products and technologies connecting and exchanging data such as in the ‘smart home’ with lighting, heating, security, growth opportunities are rife.
Set up as a joint venture partnership Certsure delivers products and services that ensure the standards and competency of people undertaking electrical work. This ensures the safety of both tradespeople and consumers and Certsure is therefore playing an increasingly important role in our society.
