Who we are

A4S, was established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales, “to help ensure that we are not battling to meet 21st-century challenges with, at best, 20th-century decision-making and reporting systems“. We are on a mission to inspire finance leaders to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy. The A4S CFO Programme encompasses the global A4S CFO Leadership Network, Circles of Practice, and Role-Based groups, bringing together CFOs and senior finance team members from the world’s largest organisations. Together, we seek to embed environmental and social responsibility into business processes and strategy, ultimately accelerating change across Europe, Canada, the US, and Asia Pacific.

Our Values

A4S offers a competitive range of benefits, a good work-life balance, employee growth and development, and a vibrant organisational culture.

You’ll join a small team of about 40, who are based primarily in and around London. You’ll interact and work with colleagues at all levels and stay in the loop on the full extent of our system-changing programmes of work. We strive for a collaborative, supportive and non-hierarchical structure.

Our dedicated office is in Mindspace Shoreditch – a vibrant, modern and dog-friendly co-working space which hosts weekly events including brunches, after-work socials and the occasional arts and crafts evening! We also organize our own team lunches, park days and away days – with team volunteering days also on the horizon.

About the role

As the Manager of the CFO Programme, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of A4S in its quest for sustainable, resilient business models. This position focuses on driving effective core operations, which includes owning critical processes, tracking performance KPIs, and collaborating with global directors to fuel business development and engagement. Your close collaboration with the global CFO Programme team and the A4S Operations team is essential to our growth and the scale-up of global action.

Your responsibilities will be varied and impactful. You will be tasked with assessing and enhancing operational efficiency, monitoring key processes, and creating dashboards to track performance trends. You will also work closely with regional managers and officers to ensure project management platforms are up-to-date, streamline internal communications for effective team collaboration, and manage the delivery of essential projects, such as the A4S Self-Assessment tool and a member knowledge-sharing platform.

The role extends to providing support for research and proactive engagement of key organisations. You will help identify global events, maintain partnerships, and manage internal communications to keep the CFO Programme team informed about A4S activities and priorities. Your meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and adaptability will be crucial in delivering high-quality outputs and managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

This is a unique opportunity to shape how senior individuals and organisations respond to the sustainability challenges of the 21st century. We’re looking for an individual who can manage complexity, think critically, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and help us drive positive change for a sustainable future.

We are seeking a candidate with a demonstrable background in operational delivery and project management. Your experience should include process development and improvement, whether as part of an operations team or within a project.

Your passion for data management, including tracking, reporting, building dashboards, and data analysis, will be essential to derive key messages and trends.

Effective relationship management with senior internal and external stakeholders is a must, and you should have the ability to influence senior management.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, a critical thinking mindset, high attention to detail, and exceptional organisational skills are vital. While not essential, an awareness and interest in HM King Charles III’s work and activities, along with experience or interest in sustainability and finance, would be advantageous. Experience in project managing multiple initiatives and stakeholders, especially in IT delivery projects, is also a valuable asset.

Join us in this impactful journey towards a sustainable, resilient future, where your operational and project management expertise will make a significant difference.
