Gateway Qualifications seeks an experienced and motivational Head of Product to take the lead and help this dynamic, growing awarding organisation to meet its ambitious targets and determination to succeed.

We are an ambitious, go-getting organisation and are keen to attract a like-minded individual to become our new Head of Product, leading the development and maintenance of our qualifications and assessment portfolio.

As someone who has significant experience working at a senior level in qualification or assessment development functions, you will be responsible for an internal team, manage and work with a team of external associates, and embrace the use of technology, including e-assessment platforms.

The Head of Product will set and deliver product strategies in line with government priorities in the post-16 education sector. Use your knowledge of current policy and sector development to plan, implement and amend operational processes for the successful rollout and maintenance of new products throughout their lifecycle.

You will be an individual who can lead your team with agility, whilst overseeing, prioritising and delivering on outcomes that meet customer and learner needs. You should also be well versed in how to overcome operational constraints in order to deliver a successful product. The Head of Product will work closely with operational teams and have the ability to think of new and innovative ways of working to achieve the right outcomes.

The Head of Product will liaise directly with external agencies, such as qualification regulators and government/funding agencies. Therefore, the successful candidate should be familiar with building and maintaining relationships with senior-level stakeholders to provide expert, informed and reliable advice to the team on all aspects of qualification development, assessment design and funding.

Whilst we are a business, we are also a charity and our dedicated team take pride in supporting our centres; it is a key part of what we do! We are small enough to care but large enough to invest in technology, to add value to our employees, centres and learners.

We have a small and highly approachable senior leadership team, who share the same office space and are truly part of the team. We also have an excellent Board of Trustees who have invested in us as an organisation, so that we can do more for our customers.

We are a team of about 90 in total, with 30 core staff members, the wider workforce and our consultants. Our main office is based in Colchester, but we have colleagues around the country. Depending on the role, we operate a work-from-home policy and this includes the new Head of Product position.

We have weekly all-staff training, staff days and a staff involvement group, which is regularly chaired by our CEO and is an opportunity to air any concerns and to discuss our strategy.
