  • Salary: £43,761 - £46,810

We are dedicated to myeloma patients – making sure they get access to the right treatment at the right time. We continually strive to improve standards of treatment and care through research, education and raising awareness of myeloma.

The charity is halfway through its 3-year strategy, and as we look forward, we are driven by a need to deliver an even greater impact for people with myeloma and their loved ones.

Myeloma can be a treatable disease if it is caught early enough and for over 25 years Myeloma UK has tirelessly campaigned to get new and effective drugs available on the NHS. But it is still an incurable cancer. As we look forward to the next 25 years, we will seek deliver greater and transformative impact for people with myeloma today and in the future.

About the Role

The Head of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships will work with the Director of Fundraising, playing a key role in developing and delivering Myeloma UK’s next Fundraising Strategy to achieve significant growth.

We have identified our high-level income streams – philanthropy, trusts, corporate and special events – as a growth opportunity for the organisation. You will play a key role in identifying growth opportunities within our existing activities and innovating to create new revenues of income.

You will lead an ambitious team of fundraisers to exceed targets, leading by example as you personally manage your own portfolio of donors.

As a key member of the Income Generation Management Team, the Head of Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships will contribute to the delivery of the charity’s strategic, operational, and departmental plans.

Key Deliverables


  • Develop, implement and lead an ambitious and integrated high-value giving strategy to achieve significant growth across Philanthropy, Corporate, Trusts and Special Events
  • Contribute towards a fully integrated fundraising Charity, working in collaboration with other departments, particularly Services, Research and Patient Advocacy.
  • Deputise for the Director of Fundraising as required
  • Lead the team to secure 5-, 6- & 7-figure donations
  • Continue to develop the Trusts fundraising programme to drive sustainable income, focusing on securing transformational, multi-year grants
  • Establish and lead our approach to strategic corporate partnerships across a range of markets (including pharma) securing long term, sustainable sources of income
  • Lead the delivery of the highest standards of bespoke proposals and updates across all high-value income streams
