Are you an experienced marketing professional with skills in brand, digital and content? NHS Charities Together are expanding their marketing and communications team by recruiting a new Head of Marketing and Brand.

  • Location: Home based with one day a week on average in Warwick office (Subject to Covid guidance)
  • Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

NHS Charities Together represents, champions and supports the work of 241 member charities. Following the high-profile success of the Covid-19 Urgent Appeal, raising over £150m and supporting 1.5m NHS staff since March 2020, we are now recruiting a brand-new Head of Marketing and Brand to develop, manage and deliver NHS Charities Together’s marketing strategy.

Overall Purpose

The Head of Marketing and Brand will be joining NHS Charities Together at an exciting stage of growth and development as we expand our marketing and communications team.

This role will lead on the development and delivery of marketing strategies and build awareness of our evolving brand. They will play a pivotal role in driving engagement with member charities and supporters, all the while protecting the NHS Charities Together brand.

Working closely with other members of the marketing and communications team, this role will lead on identifying and developing campaigns, taking a data led approach to reach targets around brand awareness and to support digital fundraising. The new Head of Marketing and Brand will also provide marketing and communications support for national fundraising campaigns and appeals, such as the NHS Big Tea in July.

Line managing a team of two, this role will oversee all our digital channels, ensuring that they are fully optimised. They will also oversee the development and delivery of content strategies, making use of variety of content including copy, video and audio.

The successful candidate will be an experienced marketing and brand professional with experience across the marketing mix. You will have experience in leading on the development of brand strategies and managing high-profile brands, as well as leading on the development of national campaigns. You will have up to date digital marketing knowledge and have experience in overseeing content strategies. You will also have line management experience and have a data driven approach to marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of the organisation’s marketing and brand strategy to raise awareness, drive engagement with member charities and external supporters and to protect the NHS Charities Together brand.
  • Project manage the development of NHS Charities Together’s brand proposition; embed our brand with all audiences and across all channels, following a significant increase in the organisation’s public facing role with donors and supporters.
  • Line-management of a senior marketing officer and marketing officer.
  • Take a lead in identifying and developing campaigns that will promote and protect the NHS Charities Together brand.
  • Play a key role in the marketing and communications support for national fundraising campaigns and appeals, including the NHS Big Tea, to support fundraising targets.
  • Overseeing all digital and other channels, taking an evidence-based approach to develop objectives, grow our engagement and target our communications to our different stakeholders.
  • Improve our use of data to create marketing personas, proposition testing to identify which messages resonate with and engage supporters.
  • Oversee a content strategy and content creation, working with other members of the marketing and communications team. Making full use of versatile content, including imagery, impactful copy, video and podcasts.
  • Oversee the team to source case studies and stories to evidence our impact as a charity.
  • Taking a ‘one team’ approach and working closely with colleagues and teams across the organisation to shared goals.
