Join Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) in their mission to transform finance to make sustainable business, business as usual, as their Head of Fundraising.

  • Location: UK or US based, hybrid or remote working
  • Salary: £75,000
  • Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 27th May

Who we are

Accounting for Sustainability (A4S) was established by HM King Charles III in 2004, when he was The Prince of Wales, to transform finance to make sustainable business, business as usual. Today we work with leading CFOs, finance managers, business schools, regulators, standard setters and more, to drive a fundamental shift towards resilient business models and a sustainable economy.

About the role

We are excited to be creating a new role of Head of Fundraising to develop our fundraising strategy, secure additional philanthropic income from existing and new foundations and corporate supporters, and ensure that good relationships are maintained. The timing of the new role aligns with the development of A4S’s overarching strategy to 2030, representing an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow not only fundraising activities, but also A4S’s mission.

The role can be hybrid (if in the UK) or remote (if in the US). We are currently piloting a ‘four-day week’, working Monday to Thursday plus an average of once Friday in four.

Who we are looking for

You will have successfully developed and implemented fundraising strategies for the not-for-profit sector, with a track record of securing multi-year support and a strong understanding of the international funding landscape as it relates to sustainability.

You will be comfortable working at both the strategic and operational level, with excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. You will also have excellent organisational skills and a proven ability to work independently and prioritise your own workload. You will have a working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of a philanthropic income generation strategy and planning to meet or exceed targets.
  • Ensuring A4S has a suite of appropriate materials that present cases for support and can be developed into compelling propositions for prospective funders.
  • Working closely with the COO and finance team to develop annual plans and budgets related to fundraising activities.
  • Preparing board and management reports, presenting to board and global executive team, and leading internal monthly fundraising meetings.
  • Ensuring a robust grant reporting process for current and new funders and preparing regular management board reports to track progress against the fundraising strategy, plans and budgets.
  • Establishing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with key individuals at current and pipeline funding organisations, as well as setting up and leading the preparations for meetings with them.
