Reporting to the Director of Quality Assurance & Policy, the key purpose of this role is to lead on the quality, validity, reliability, manageability, accuracy, and comparability of ICAS assessments ultimately ensuring valid and reliable outcomes for all candidates. This role will champion meaningful assessments across the CA levels ensuing a clear assessment journey for candidates.
The HADO will have dual responsibility working directly with the Exam Panels that are made up of internal and external members, ensuring fit for purpose assessment policies are applied consistently across assessment design, development, marking, moderation, and results determination. In addition, they will subsequently collaborate with our internal procurement team in Customer Experience to set the technical requirements of ‘competence’ for assessment authors scrutineers, markers, examiners, and moderators and oversee the performance and development of external consultants to ensure that assessments are produced, marked, and graded in accordance with ICAS assessment policies. The HADO will actively contribute to Syllabus reviews to ensure meaningful assessment solution.
Collaboration is therefore key to this role as the HADO will represent ICAS on internal and external committees, play a lead role when ICAS Assessment policies are inspected or audited, and will deal with the relevant regulators and participate in internal governance meetings.
We are looking for an experienced assessment practitioner with proven design experience, who has worked in Higher Education, Professional and Examination Bodies. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of the CA Qualification including the syllabus and practical experience of components and pathways.
We need assessment ‘theory into practice’ expertise, someone who can work effectively and collaborative to share their technical knowledge and influence relevant parties to ensure our Assessments are fit for purpose. Subject expertise and a proven track record in a similar role will enable you to settle in quickly and build credibility both internally and externally, enabling you to support to Director of QA & Policy and make real change happen.
Working directly with many different key stakeholders, you should be a clear, confident communicator and relationship builder, able to adapt your style and approach appropriately. You will be a real team player to join our small, but perfectly formed team. Someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting involved in transforming how we operate as a team.
