AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group is a leading Awarding (AO) and End-Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) offering award-winning qualifications and nominated end-point assessment services.

The history of our organisation traces back to the early 1990s, culminating in the merger of AIM Qualifications and Assessment Group with Open College Network West Midlands in Autumn 2022. About the role.

As EQA Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of external quality assurance systems and processes across all qualifications.

Reporting to the Head of Access and Compliance, you will oversee the implementation of EQA procedures, conduct thorough reviews, and the monitoring of compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your key responsibilities will include managing external EQAs, leading recruitment efforts, and ensuring effective budget management.

Additionally, you will provide essential support and guidance to centres, conduct spot checks, and contributes to the continuous improvement of processes.

You will be expected to work from the office in Derby or Wolverhampton approximately 2 days a week.

The role is on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

Who we are looking for.

This role demands strong leadership, exceptional communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and integrity — ultimately influencing the organisation’s ability to empower learners and uphold its reputation within the education sector.

Our ideal candidate for the EQA Manager role should possess a professional qualification at level 5 or above, accompanied by relevant experience in external quality assurance processes — this experience could come from directly working within another awarding organisation or via leading quality assurance from a centre perspective.

You will bring at least 2 years of management experience, a comprehensive understanding of cross-sector post-16 education, and familiarity with awarding body and regulatory structures.

You will be able to competently demonstrate the ability to manage projects, write reports, and work with regulatory bodies in the education sector.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.

In addition, we are looking for someone with high levels of motivation, enthusiasm, and integrity, coupled with the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Further information

Our office space in Derby is on 2 levels with the meeting rooms at ground level and main office working space on the first floor. This only has stair access. Ground floor has toilet and kitchen access. Our Wolverhampton office is all on the first floor with lift access.

Previous adjustments we have made (dependant on role) include working from home, flexible working patterns, adjustments for medical or neurodivergent needs.
