Thank you for your interest in the role of Deputy Principal at Ealing, Hammersmith and West London College (branded as West London College).
Since the FE Commissioner’s initial assessment visit in August 2018, West London College has achieved a great deal of progress in a relatively short period of time. This has led to high confidence from the intervention agencies in the College’s leadership team, as well as making significant and important progress in strengthening our financial position. By the end of 2019/20, we will have broadly achieved a financial break even position and will have seen a second year of significant income growth. Our staffing cost to income ratio will also be broadly around the sector norm of 65%.
We are a relatively new, ambitious and talented senior leadership team that passionately believes there is much unrealised potential at West London College. We are determined to transform ourselves into one of the leading colleges in the capital.
We are now seeking an exceptional individual to join our senior leadership team to help us to shape, deliver and secure an exciting future for our students, staff, employers and communities. You will be a suitably skilled and experienced person who shares our vision and ambition to be the leading college in West London for technical and vocational education and skills training. You will be highly effective in your pursuit for the continuous improvement of standards, student outcomes, organisational effectiveness and curriculum efficiency. This role will provide a capable and ambitious leader with significant career prospects and the opportunity to make a major contribution to the educational, economic and employment landscape of the nation’s capital city.
We have an exciting estates strategy that has already seen the opening of two brand new and industry-standard construction centres, located in prime positions in West London, poised to take advantage of major infrastructure developments. We have also been awarded the prestigious and coveted Mayor’s Construction Academy Scheme kitemark – one of only seven hubs in the capital.
Our estates strategy will see the demolition of our Hammersmith and Fulham College campus, to be replaced with a brand new, purpose-built and state-of-the-art facility. We will continue to invest in our campuses at Ealing and Southall to ensure we are providing high-quality learning environments for our learners, employers and communities.
The West London area is a safe and vibrant part of the capital, known for its culture and the arts. It is a major business hub for the UK economy, and the base for a number of nationally important and global blue-chip companies including: Heathrow Airport, Wembley, BBC, White City, Westfield (the biggest shopping mall in Europe), Olympia, Coca Cola and Walt Disney, to name but a few.
If you are excited by these prospects and think there is a good fit between our requirements and your abilities and ambition, then we would love to hear from you!
