Welcome from Jayne Davis - Principal & Chief Executive at Bath College

Dear candidate,

A very warm welcome and thank you for your interest in our Deputy Principal role.

We have a clear mission at the College which is to provide innovative training to develop skills, inspire individuals, enrich the wider community, and encourage all to achieve and progress. We are the only FE college in Bath & North East Somerset and have a strong relationship with Bath & North East Somerset Council and combined authority partners WECA (West of England Combined Authority).

The FE sector is going through a period of change where we are even more central to our local, regional and national employment and skills strategies whether that is working in line with the Local Skills Improvement plan or collaborating with our employers and other partners to tightly match our curriculum with local and regional skills needs.

The role is at the senior post-holder level and as a key member of the College’s senior leadership team, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the new College Strategy Plan and be a lead influence on the cross-college curriculum and quality assurance and improvement as well as lead on safeguarding and learner support.  This role has a wide enough remit to be instrumental in the College’s future growth, external partnerships and future innovations.

The post-holder will be supported by passionate and dynamic leadership and management teams who have a learner-centred approach and who lead committed curriculum and support teams as well as a forward-thinking and ambitious Board.

The post-holder will be based at both the College’s campuses, Somer Valley Campus in Westfield (approx. 10 miles from Bath city centre), and City Centre Campus, which is at the heart of the World Heritage city of Bath.

Staff and students are proud to be part of the Bath College community. We have a strong ethos and a shared vision that staff are ambitious and successful, valued, heard, feel included and that we are one team. It is an exciting time to be part of that team!

If you are ambitious and committed to the learner experience, you think you would be a good fit and you would like to work in one of the most beautiful cities in the country, we would like to hear from you.

Yours Sincerely,

Jayne Davis
