Communications Manager Sabre Education

Sabre Education are looking for a talented communications professional to join the organisation and shape their communications strategy and support the growth of their communications in Ghana, the UK and internationally.

  • Location: Remote
  • Salary: £38,000 - £42,000 (if UK-based)
  • Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 24th June

Who we are

Sabre Education is a leading and award-winning early childhood education international NGO1. We work in close partnership with the government of Ghana to deliver the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.2 on universal access to quality pre-primary education.

Kindergarten (KG) education, for children aged four and five, was introduced in Ghana nationally in 2007. Whilst a great achievement, equivalent gains have not been made in the quality of education. This means young children are still experiencing poor learning outcomes at a critical stage of their development.

Sabre focuses on:

Our mission is to support Ghana in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4.2 — universal access to quality ECE, as we work towards our vision of a world where early learning supports every child to succeed.

Currently, Sabre is working closely with partners to support the government to nationally scale up quality early years education in Ghana — an approach we aim to replicate elsewhere in Sub-Saharan Africa.

About the role

At a key moment of growth and opportunity, Sabre Education seek a talented communications professional who is experienced in managing varied communications areas. You will be instrumental in shaping Sabre’s communications strategy, covering both internal and external communications.

Critical to the role will be supporting the growth of our communications in Ghana, as well as in the UK and internationally.

You will have the autonomy to shape the area, and a supportive close-knit team who believe in the power of communications. We are excited about what you can bring to the organisation!

Over the past few years, Sabre has laid a strong foundation for its communications strategy, and we are now on the verge of launching an exciting new brand and website.

We have established comprehensive brand guidelines, identified target audiences and key messages, and developed detailed organisational materials and blueprints.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to build on this foundation and elevate Sabre’s global presence as a leading specialist in early childhood education.

Our mission is to support Ghana in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4.2 — universal access to quality ECE, as we work towards our vision of a world where early learning supports every child to succeed.

Who we are looking for

You will have proven experience developing and implementing a communications strategy, and a background across a range of communications areas.

You will be a natural self-starter who takes the initiative — we want to hear your ideas. Furthermore, you will be able to work independently to shape implementation but also be a team player who embraces collaboration.

To be successful in this varied role, you will have strong project management skills, be organised but also have a creative flair, particularly for messaging and storytelling.

A passion for international development, especially the power of education, is essential. We want you to believe wholeheartedly in our mission and have a desire to play a leading role in helping us achieve it.
