About the role

As Chief Executive Officer, you will lead Camphill Village Trust through the next phase of its evolution, building on the significant transformation already underway while shaping a clear and ambitious vision for the future. Working closely with the Board, executive leadership team, colleagues and the people the Trust supports, you will ensure the organisation continues to deliver exceptional, person-centred care while remaining financially sustainable and true to its values.

This is a highly visible leadership role, requiring someone equally comfortable setting strategic direction as they are engaging with colleagues and communities across the organisation’s geographically dispersed locations.

You will foster a culture of openness, collaboration and empowerment, developing a high-performing executive team that works collectively to deliver outstanding outcomes.

Alongside driving organisational performance, you will act as a passionate ambassador for Camphill Village Trust, building strong relationships with regulators, commissioners, partners, supporters and the wider sector.

You will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s next strategic plan, ensuring its identity as a leading provider of high-quality, regulated social care is reflected alongside its rich heritage of community living and green care.

Throughout, your focus will remain on improving the lives of the people the Trust supports, creating an organisation where quality, compassion and values drive every decision.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a dynamic, values-led leader with an exceptional senior leadership track record of success in an organisation of similar scale and complexity. Our new CEO will combine strategic vision with humility, authenticity and the ability to bring people together. This is a role for someone who leads through collaboration and empowerment, creating an environment where people feel valued and inspired to achieve their best.

You will have a proven track record of leading complex organisations through periods of significant change, with experience of operating within a regulated environment and driving quality and sustainability. Whilst direct social care experience would be highly valued, it is not essential. We are equally interested in leaders from aligned sectors who bring a genuine understanding of the social care landscape, transferable experience and the curiosity to learn.

You will be an exceptional people leader, capable of developing high-performing teams, building strong external relationships, and acting as a credible ambassador for the organisation. Commercial awareness, financial acumen and experience of developing strategic partnerships or fundraising opportunities would also be advantageous.

Above all, we are looking for someone whose values align with our own. A visible, compassionate and inclusive leader who is excited by the opportunity to spend time across our communities, listen to the people we support and our colleagues, and lead Camphill Village Trust with openness, integrity and purpose.

Welcome from the Acting Chair of Trustees

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in becoming the next Chief Executive for Camphill Village Trust. We are a distinctive and values-led organisation, with a clear sense of purpose. Our communities are built on the principles of inclusion, shared living and meaningful contribution, supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to lead fulfilling, connected lives.

With over 70 years of history, we are looking for someone who can honour our heritage while helping us evolve with confidence. This is a pivotal moment for the Trust. It’s an opportunity to strengthen our impact, deepen our culture and ensure long-term sustainability in a changing environment.

We are looking for a leader who understands that people are at the heart of everything we do, from the people we support and our colleagues, through to our volunteers and wider community. You will bring the ability to unite people around a shared vision, lead with compassion and integrity and build strong relationships both within and beyond the organisation.

Importantly, we welcome candidates from a wide range of backgrounds, not just social care. What matters most is your alignment with our values, your ability to lead a complex organisation and your commitment to making a meaningful difference.

If you believe you can lead Camphill Village Trust into its next chapter with clarity, care, and ambition, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Michael Green
