Chief Executive Involve Kent

If you are passionate about leading an organisation that works to promote healthier, happier lives for people and communities – apply to be our next Chief Executive!

  • Location: Maidstone, Kent (Based at our Head Office)
  • Salary: From £85,000 per annum
  • Closing date: 9 a.m. Wednesday 19th June

Involve Kent is a community-led charity and resource committed to providing holistic health and wellbeing support to people of all ages and circumstances. We work both directly and with partners to provide vital community services and activities for people to improve health and wellbeing, empowering people and communities to live well and tackling the root causes of ill health, including isolation, loneliness, disadvantage and frailty.

Involve believes that everyone, regardless of the challenges they face, should have the same opportunity to live in good health. Our aim is to improve health, happiness and quality of life for all people we work with.

First established in 1975 to develop volunteering and communities, we are now leaders in social prescribing and other innovative approaches to improve wellbeing in communities.

We are ambitious about the impact we can have on the social determinants of health and seek parity of esteem between social and clinical interventions. We are committed to working to tackle health inequalities in all forms. We believe age is not a barrier to good health, and we work to the World Health Organisation’s definition of health as “a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.”

Having recently launched our ambitious strategy in 2023, ‘Helping you build healthier, happier lives,’ we are seeking an audaciously innovative, strategic and visionary Chief Executive to lead us forward to the next exciting chapter.

Our Chief Executive will be an inspiring and experienced people leader with a demonstrable senior leadership track record in an organisation of similar scale and complexity. With a strong background in health and/or social care, which is directly transferable to Involve Kent, you will be highly attuned to sector pressures and opportunities and experienced in leading and coaching multidisciplinary, high-performing, well-established teams. You will recognise the importance of working with and informing the committed body of Trustees.

It is critical that our CEO maintains, builds and expands effective networks with Involve Kent’s stakeholders while acting as a key spokesperson, ambassador and advocate for the organisation and the communities we support.

You will have the confidence, credibility and experience which demonstrates your ability to identify, secure and implement new opportunities, constantly horizon scanning and responding to the needs of our community. In addition, you will have strong financial acumen, written communication skills and direct experience of securing significant income and leading diversification of services in a similar setting.

Involve Kent needs a passionate, committed and dedicated leader who can respond and deliver in a complex and challenging landscape.

Above all else, you will be a champion of Involve, be visible and empowering, demonstrating a passion and flair that will align to what we do – promote choice, connect people and challenge inequalities.
