The Rose Road Association is full of people working passionately to achieve our vision – a world where disability is not a barrier. We have been doing this since 1952 across Hampshire and surrounding areas, working with children and adults with complex and multiple disabilities and health needs and their families. We become a much-needed extended family for many people and we do it with fun and professionalism.

The Rose Road Association supports people in their own home and within 2 respite residential units, one for children and one for adults. Also, they support young people through a range of short break services ranging from overnight respite, community outreach which can include day trips and visits, our day services options and our wonderful playschemes.

In addition, Rose Road provides information and advice services for parents, families and carers.

Our outgoing CEO has led the Association through a period of transformational change and leaves a fantastic legacy on which to build. Under her passionate, inspirational and collaborative leadership, Rose Road is a well-respected, and innovative charity in Southampton, Hampshire and the neighbouring areas. We are focused and resilient, with a committed and cohesive team, a dedicated board of trustees and a person-centred and values driven culture.

About the Role

The Rose Road Association is now looking for a Chief Executive who can provide inspirational and visible leadership and work with Trustees, staff, our young people and their families and carers, to lead the next stage of our development.

We are looking for a great communicator who will be able to continue to enable a collaborative, transparent and values-driven culture, that puts our young people at its heart.

Our new CEO will be able to maintain, build and expand effective networks with Rose Road’s key stakeholders, while acting as a key spokesperson, ambassador and advocate for Rose Road.

As we navigate a continually challenging health and social care landscape our ideal candidate will be able to effectively horizon-scan and be alert to relevant legislation and policy changes, as well as possible opportunities and challenges.

You should have strong financial acumen and be able to lead and continue to foster high quality operational standards in a cost-effective and performance focused manner.

This is an exciting but demanding role and requires an individual who has a high degree of tenacity, resilience and energy and the leadership qualities to enable you to respond and deliver in a complex and challenging landscape, keeping young people’s needs as well as their families and carers, at the forefront at all times.

The ideal candidate will have a keen values alignment to our own and leadership experience in a charity, social care and/or health environment with a strong track record of person-centred service delivery and development.

Our outgoing Chief Executive leaves us in a wonderful place after a period of transformational change. We have an expert, diverse and passionate team, are in a strong financial position and have an exceptional reputation for the provision we offer. Our vision is lived and breathed by us. This is a world where disability is not a barrier and we value all individuals, respect choices and challenge barriers, truly inspiring people to reach their potential.

We are now looking for our new Chief Executive to consolidate and embed this change, but we also want to continue to extend and expand the services we provide. This will ensure we evolve and continue to respond to the needs of the children and adults with complex and multiple disabilities in Southampton and across Hampshire. In particular we have plans to develop our adult provision and seek to expand our accommodation through a new build/development of our site.

The Rose Road Association is a charity that provides services for over 300 children and young adults with severe physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and/or autism.

With the vision of ‘A world where disability is not a barrier’, the Association based in Southampton, has been working with children, young people and their families from across Hampshire and the surrounding counties since 1952.

The children who attend The Association have multiple and complex health needs and at Rose Road we believe in valuing individuals, celebrating achievement and respecting the choices of our young people.

Having moved to our purpose-built Centre in 2003, we are able to offer the highest quality care to all those who attend Rose Road. The Association provides a range of services for young disabled people aged 0 – 25, their parents, families and carers.

Rose Road supports young people through a range of short break services ranging from overnight respite, community outreach which can include day trips and visits, our day services options and our wonderful playschemes.

We have experienced staff all of whom have a wide variety of skills, knowledge and expertise. All our staff undertake a range of training and development programmes and are subject to a Disclosure & Barring Check if working directly with the young people.

We also have a number of transport options with a fleet of modern vehicles, and these range from an adapted car for one young disabled person, a modern people carrier for up to three young people through to a full-sized minibus with all relevant adaptations to ensure children are able to travel in safety and comfort.

In addition Rose Road provides information and service services for parents, families and carers.
