Electricity is a major cause of accidental fires in UK homes, with over 20,000 each year. We are recruiting for a seasoned public affairs campaigns professional with a demonstrable track record of devising and executing advocacy campaigns that drive positive change.

  • Location: London based with hybrid working
  • Salary: £44,000

Electrical Safety First (ESF) is the UK’s leading charity on electrical safety. We’re working to make sure everyone in the UK can use electricity safely, and regularly work with the media, government, business, and the electrical industry to improve policy and standards and to influence consumer behaviour.

Our work is more important than ever with electricity playing a key role in the low carbon agenda and the UK achieving Net Zero targets. For example, working to ensure that the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles is improved and new homes are correctly equipped to charge EVs and to take advantage of new smart technologies and heating systems such as electric heat pumps.

We also campaign on issues that include product recall and registration, electrical DIY, the importance of registered electricians and unsafe electrical goods. As well as raising awareness with the public, we work with politicians to ensure that the Government is doing all it can to keep people safe from electrical accidents.

About the Role

The Campaigns Manager is a new position with a mission to plan, develop, deliver, and evaluate ESF’s campaigns across the UK. You will be part of the Policy and Public Affairs team, working collaboratively with the Technical and Communications teams, to ensure campaigns are fully integrated and grounded in evidence, insight, and provide a clear path for change.

You’ll be responsible for the conception of campaign ideas, development, planning through to executing campaigns, measuring their performance, and evaluating and reporting on their effectiveness.

About the Person

We are looking for an experienced not-for-profit sector public affairs campaigns professional who has also developed and delivered lobbying activities at Westminster.

You’ll be a skilled project manager with excellent communication skills, great attention to detail and passionate about working to bring about positive change.

Our office is near London Bridge and Waterloo Station, and we offer hybrid working .

Salary will be up to £44k dependent on experience. The benefits package includes 25 days annual leave, private medical insurance, a contributory pension scheme and much more.
