  • Location: Wolverhampton
  • Salary: £29,019 - £35,983

About the role

The post is a full-time office-based role, but there are opportunities for home working, and you may be required to travel across the Open College Network West Midlands area locally and nationally.

Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development you will play a leading role in the future growth of the organisation.  You will be an effective networker with substantial experience of selling and marketing products and services, together with the confidence to conduct sales / product offer presentations to customers.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Business Development Manager (Sales) with high initiative and drive to generate new business income from the sale of qualifications and other accredited provision to agreed targets. The post holder will have led responsibility for generating new business enquiries and securing new customer acquisitions for the organisation.

To meet these requirements, the ideal candidate will bring:

  • Substantial experience of selling and marketing products and services,
  • Substantial experience of developing and implementing lead generation plans,
  • Employer engagement experience,
  • Experience of initiating and maintaining working relationships,
  • Experience of networking with key stakeholders,
  • Experience of managing a portfolio of customers,
  • Experience of meeting business targets.

The role would be suited to somebody who is driven by success with a real ‘can-do’, self-starter ethos.

Ideally you will come from a background in awarding organisations, the education sector or an independent training provider and hold a proven track record of employer engagement, account management and relationship building with external stakeholders.
