About Nottingham BID

Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) was formed in 2012, following the merger of the city’s retail and leisure BIDs.

We are one of the largest BIDs in the country with over 800 members and the first BID in the UK to have successfully renewed our funding for a further term of five years during the Covid Pandemic.

This overwhelming support of businesses in Nottingham puts an incredible act of faith in us, especially as so many of our members have been some of the hardest hit during this time.

Our Journey so far:

Following on from the success of gaining a third term at such a pivotal time, Nottingham BID will be at the forefront of recovery, supporting both the well-known businesses and independent businesses at the heart of the city which make Nottingham so diverse. The BID recognises the significance of both recovery and long-term investment, and therefore has formulated an ambitious strategic plan, which moves beyond short-term interventions and into long-term investment into the progression of the city.

Building upon the success of our previous terms, and with the extension of our BID Zone, our new strategy focuses on four key areas: Promoted City, Managed City, Working City, and Independent City – which we believe will help us ‘Build a Better Nottingham, Together.’

Some of the initiatives we have delivered:

In our previous terms, we have been the force behind a number of successful initiatives such as Light Night, Halloween Trail, The Big Lunch, Cask Ale Trails, The Magnificent Spiegeltent and The Wise Owl Walk – all of which have helped to create a vibrant range of experiences for our diverse local community and beyond.

We have also worked hard to ensure Nottingham is a safe and welcoming city centre environment, through projects such as the Street Ambassadors, Street Pastors, Best Bar None, Purple Flag scheme and Grot Spot Cleansing.

Nottingham BID Area

As the city prepares to re-open, Nottingham BID will be at the forefront of recovery.

We will support businesses in adapting to a new way of working following the COVID-19 outbreak, promoting a safe exit from lockdown and identifying the next steps required to shape the long-term recovery of the city centre.
