The newly created position of Associate Director of Marketing and Communications – Advancement, will business partner with our Advancement division, supporting us with our fundraising efforts and our communications with our alumni community. You will develop our marketing and communications strategy to support our next fundraising campaign, ensuring consistency in our brand and messaging to our alumni audience. We generate research and ideas that have a real, lasting influence on people, businesses and markets around the world. We need the talent, tools and environment to share our thinking globally. In this role, you will reach our alumni audience and keep them engaged with our community.
You will come with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject area, ideally with an understanding of and experience in fundraising in charity and/or higher education. You will have a strong communications background and understanding of content marketing. Coming with outstanding relationship building skills will be vital, as well as strategic planning skills and project management experience. Leadership, influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to identify, analyse and effectively use marketing information will be equally important. You will also have experience in allocating, managing and controlling budgets.

Impact in Action – Cleaning up our oceans
How four LBS graduates are using skills, knowledge and connections acquired at the School to help reduce the eight million tonnes of plastic pouring into our oceans each year.
Nick Doman (MiM2018) met Will Pearson (MiM2018), Michelle Wiles (MBA2019) and Mauricio Coindreau (MBA2019) at the London Business School Launchpad – A programme set up to allow students to develop their entrepreneurial skills while studying.
Together, Nick, Will, Michelle and Mauricio co-founded and launched Ocean Bottle – a reusable water bottle which funds the collection of ocean-bound plastic in impoverished coastal communities around the world. Ocean Bottle is having a profound global impact, with the sale of just one Bottle funding the collection of 1,000 items of plastic.
London Business School was a major source of support for these talented entrepreneurs, helping them establish their company and contributing to its success. The LBS Launchpad brought the team together and worked with them to refine their first pitch. The LBS Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation sponsored the team on an expedition to Brazil to film their launch video. And, the LBS Incubator provided them with office space, mentoring, corporate partners and connections to help get the business off the ground.
Speaking about his decision to study the Masters in Management at LBS, Nick Doman says:
“It gave me a way to meet like-minded people. I’ve learned everything from accounting and marketing to strategy and market research. It gave me a foundation in everything I needed to know to start a business. If I hadn’t gone to LBS, I wouldn’t have met Will and the other co-founders. We would have been starting a business from scratch, but London Business School gave us a leg up.”
