Governance in times of crisis

Never more have we needed to ensure that governance is robust, innovative and delivering exceptional leadership.

Positivity, people power and specialist skills to build resilience and capacity now, and in the future.

Many of our people are charity trustees or governors and we feel strongly that we should open up our expertise, as well as reduce the cost burden to our clients during a time when you are under immense financial pressure.

The challenge to deliver exceptional leadership and steer your organisation, beneficiaries and members through these uncertain times will not be new to many of you. You’ll also know that the skills, support and expertise your board brings can be a huge help.

As experts in board appointments, we know the impact an incredible non-executive can have.

And in the last year, we have delivered over 200 non-executive placements across every imaginable area of the charity, education and membership sectors. In doing this we have assessed and interviewed thousands of people and have a pool of incredible people seeking board roles.

We are finding that more and more people want to do something positive, and we want to share our expertise to make a positive difference. Our board recruitment services are currently in high demand.

We have thousands of brilliant, inspirational people registered with us, who have skills in:

  • Finance, audit and risk modelling
  • Programme delivery
  • Digital service delivery
  • Fundraising (including emergency appeals)
  • Change management
  • HR / OD
  • Policy and campaigning
  • Marketing and communications
  • Volunteering
  • International development

Knowing how difficult the current situation is and mindful of budgets, availability and time, we will manage the whole recruitment process.

We will remove the administrative burden whilst delivering a robust and collaborative recruitment campaign.

Our service at this time is:

  • 1-2-1 Briefings (by video conferencing)
  • Specialist matching of skill sets to the people you’re looking for
  • Interview set-up and support with candidates (by video conferencing)

What we’ll need from you:

  • A good brief – we’ll support you through this.
  • A willingness to run a process through video interviewing.

As a small business, we can’t offer our services pro bono, but we will be offering our services at minimal cost.

We’ll also be offering free online workshops over the coming weeks to provide general advice and guidance on recruitment and board development topics.

“Peridot have assisted Migrant Help over the past two years with recruiting Trustees.  The team at Peridot and especially Phillipa Fabry, worked really hard to understand the skills that we were looking for and were broad and imaginative in their approach to head hunting potential candidates.  We have found that Peridot have all the benefits of being a boutique recruitment company without losing the huge reach that you might get with a bigger company.

We really valued the networks that Peridot were able to access and the preparation that they did with the candidates before an interview. I really would recommend them highly.”

Lucy Bracken, Chair, Migrant Help

“Peridot went the extra mile in researching and recruiting people to our shortlist. We were given a good range of very experienced and impressive individuals to interview and were supported professionally and efficiently throughout. Peridot’s enthusiasm for this work and engagement with the charity and its cause are exceptional.”

Crispin Truman, Chief Executive, CPRE – The Countryside Charity – February 2020
