Equity, diversity and inclusion in the arts, heritage and culture sector.

We embrace the positive impact the arts, heritage and culture sector has on mental health, well-being and in tackling social injustice.

We appreciate that every organisation, no matter the size and scale, is on an EDI journey.

Equality is not just about providing opportunity, but about distributing power more evenly throughout organisations.

Equity takes into consideration a person’s unique circumstances, adjusting treatment accordingly so the end result is equal and the treatment is fair for all.

Diversity lies in harnessing differences and in who is represented. This can be racial, gender, ethnic and physical diversity, sexual orientation, religion and belief, but it’s also important to have diversity in how people think.

Inclusion is much more than just creating a sense of belonging. It is about how people experience the workplace and how they are enabled to make meaningful contributions.

At Peridot, we believe that every organisation’s EDI journey is unique. Working with Peridot partners, you will have a trusted advisor to guide the way. Together we work out what the words equity, diversity and inclusion truly mean for you and your organisation. We engage with your values to tailor the candidate search process and to deliver a pool of candidates who align with your values, aims and needs.

‘Thank-you for all that you have done so far to help us recruit a new chair. I was re-reading the questions earlier and thinking how much thought and consideration had gone into making those relevant to BPT and our aspirations for this process. That of course is in addition to all of the other processes you have led to get us to this point.

It is also important to say that when I spoke with them, several of the candidates remarked on how positive the process had been and particularly mentioned you and your communications in being central to that experience.’
