Grants & Special Purpose Funds Manager
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
Location: Chelsea, London, with occasional travel to Sutton, Surrey.
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is one of the leading cancer centres in the world, with a track record of developing new and better ways of diagnosing and treating cancer. The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity plays a vital role in supporting the latest clinical research and funding new facilities and equipment so that patients receive the best possible treatment and care. The Charity must rise to the challenge of channelling more funds to the Hospital to help it maintain its position at the forefront of cancer treatment and care across the world. The Charity provides funding for the Hospital through a series of grants, awarded by Trustees, for both capital and on-going projects that are in line with the Hospital’s ambitious vision and strategy, and which will enhance the provision of care to patients, both at The Royal Marsden and beyond.
This newly created role presents an exciting opportunity to be a key member of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity Grants Team. The role would suit an enthusiastic individual with experience of grant funding management to help manage the day-to-day and long-term processes of the Grants Team. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the post holder will be highly organised with a strong attention to detail, working within a growing and dynamic Grants Team to help run the Charity’s grants programme, as well as dealing with matters relating to Special Purpose Funds (SPFs). The Grants & SPF Manager will work closely with, and report to, the Head of Grants. As the team grows, the Grants & SPF Manager will then lead on the appointment of a Grants & SPF Executive to assist with administration.
What you will bring…
With experience in managing grant-giving schemes, you’ll be confident handling complex information. You’ll be a strong communicator and relationship builder in order to develop positive working relationships with grant holders as well as colleagues across finance and fundraising. You’ll also deal calmly and confidently with enquires from all professional groups as you’ll be the main point of contact for specific queries relating to grant awards and identify appropriate solutions, liaising with the Head of Grants where necessary.
