The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
Capital Appeal Fundraising Manager
Salary: Competitive + benefits
Location: Chelsea, with travel to Sutton, Surrey
Reports to: Head of Community Fundraising
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.
From funding state-of-the-art equipment and ground-breaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity has a three-year strategy that aims to significantly grow our income. Along with funding an existing world-class programme of research, treatment and care, we have also launched our largest ever capital appeal to build the Oak Cancer Centre that will provide radical new solutions for the research and treatment of cancer. Launched by our President, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, to date the appeal has been very successful and with generous philanthropic support has raised £50 million of our £70 million target.
We want to close the appeal with a public fundraising drive which engages our whole supporter base, to raise the final £5m. This role is an exciting opportunity to take a lead on the development and delivery of the public phase of the appeal for the Oak Cancer Centre.
Bringing experience from the charity sector in community or events fundraising, you will have excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders for the successful delivery of a project. Experience of working on a capital appeal would be helpful, although not a pre-requisite.
This position provides a rare opportunity to contribute significantly to support this world leading cancer centre. We hope you share our passion to achieve this aim.
