Head of Client Services, Marriage Care

Circa £45,000 Full-time Location: Nottingham and London Marriage Care specialises in helping couples – married or not – build and sustain strong, fulfilling, healthy relationships, and in providing support in times of relationship difficulty. Because better relationships make for better lives, more stable families and a stronger society. We are the largest faith-based provider of relationship support services in the UK working through our 53 Centres and 800 professionally trained and accredited volunteers. We provide marriage and relationship information, education and counselling support to thousands of people each year and have been doing so for nearly 70 years, building up a wealth of experience of how relationships survive and thrive. During 2013/14 alone, over 71,500 people accessed information about marriage and relationships from Marriage Care. In the same period 7,600 clients took part in nearly 10,000 sessions of marriage preparation or relationship counselling across England and Wales, whilst over 60,000 people accessed our web and social media resources. Trustees, Durham Students’ Union

Unremunerated (reasonable expenses will be reimbursed)  Durham Students’ Union is a student-led charity, supported by a professional management team, with £2million turnover and 30 staff, representing 17,000 students studying at Durham University. The University has two campuses – Durham city and Queen’s Campus (located in Stockton-on-Tees) – and is one of the top universities in the UK. It has a distinctive collegiate structure which includes 16 colleges.  The Union acts as a unified voice on campus and leads on issues such as academic representation and the provision of facilities, as well as running one of the most successful RAG operations (DUCK) in the country. The Union also has over 200 societies.   We are nearing the completion of a three-year strategy which has taken us right back to our fundamental purpose: as a democratic organisation, we need to understand and then ensure that the needs of Durham students are met. LOCATION                              Westminster, London HOURS                                    35 hours per week SALARY                                   £55,000 – £65,000 REPORTING TO                       Chair of Trustees DIRECT REPORTS                    1 x Fundraising Executive (part-time)   The Share Foundation operates the Junior ISA scheme for Looked After Children on behalf of the Department for Education. This scheme, announced by the Chancellor in Budget 2011 and launched by The Share Foundation in December 2012, provides each young person in care (for at least one continuous year and who does not have a Child Trust Fund) throughout the United Kingdom with a Junior ISA account opened with £200 provided by Government. Key to the plans is the help of Local Authorities throughout England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland in identifying eligible children and young people so that The Share Foundation can open the accounts and attract further funds for them. Since our operations began (November 2012) we have benefitted over 50,000 young people. Under instruction through Statutory Guidance, each Local Authority provides the details of all eligible young people in their care to The Share Foundation.
