Electrical Safety First, Trustees x 2, (Based London SE1)

Electrical Safety First (ESF) is the UK charity dedicated to reducing deaths and injuries caused by electrical accidents. We campaign on behalf of consumers and electrical trade professionals to improve safety regulation and ensure safety messages are appropriate, up to date and well communicated. We also provide expert information and advice to help people protect themselves from faulty, damaged, sub-standard, and poorly maintained electrical installations and electrical appliances. Established in 1956 as The Electrical Safety Council, we rebranded and refocused in 2012 to have a stronger consumer focus, particularly with regard to product safety.  We are working with government, manufacturers, contractors, consumers, a range of partners as well as retail brands such as TK Maxx, Asda and Primark where we provide advice and training on sourcing safe electrical products from their global suppliers. We know that great governance is at the heart of a successful and sustainable organisation and are currently investing in board development initiatives as well as recruiting new Trustees with a wider range of skills and experience. Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + Benefits. The Students’ Union University of Greenwich (SUUG) is a registered charity, with annual revenues in excess of £2.8 million, run by a permanent staff team of around 30 people complemented by over 100 paid student staff and many volunteers. We represent and provide a range of services and activities for over 28,000 students; these include sports clubs, societies, social activities and events, an advice service, shop and bars, across three campuses in Greenwich, Avery Hill and Medway. As an organisation that has gone through a lot of change and much improvement we are now feeling positive and ambitious about the future. Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) is a high performing and ambitious organisation.
