Trustees x2, Electrical Safety First

Location: Based in London SE1 Electrical Safety First (ESF) is the UK charity dedicated to reducing deaths and injuries caused by electrical accidents. We campaign on behalf of consumers and electrical trade professionals to improve safety regulation and ensure safety messages are appropriate, up to date and well communicated. We also provide expert information and advice to help people protect themselves from faulty, damaged, sub-standard, and poorly maintained electrical installations and electrical appliances. Established in 1956 as The Electrical Safety Council, we re-branded and refocused in 2012 to have a stronger consumer focus, particularly with regard to product safety.  We are currently working with government, manufacturers, contractors, consumers, a range of partners as well as retail brands such as Apple, J Lewis and Beko where we provide advice and support on the safety of electrical products. We have some exciting challenges ahead to develop a position on product safety issues in Europe with Brexit looming large, and thus lots of opportunities to influence how Britain will manage the potential risks of a lower level of electrical safety compliance. We know that great governance is at the heart of a successful and sustainable organisation and investing in new Trustees, with a wider range of skills and experience, is […]
