Chair of the Corporation Board Stoke on Trent College Remuneration: Unpaid, voluntary role with reasonable expenses Time commitment: Circa 4 days per month Stoke on Trent College is a huge asset to the City as the only general further education institution in the area serving over 240,000 people. We have incredible facilities, following a £36m capital investment across our campuses, and boast the best engineering assets in the region, which attract organisations like Bentley who train their apprentices here. We know our impact can be huge; we contribute £500m to the economy each year and 97.4% of our students leave college and go into employment or further study, but we know we can do more. The College has been on a journey of self-improvement following an Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) inspection in 2016 which rated the College as ‘Requires Improvement’. The Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) also issued a Financial Notice of Concern (FNOC) and has since been supporting and advising the College leadership to improve the financial status of the organisation.
