
Completing a 2.1 degree in History of Art, Philippa’s early career was in the arts, initially working for a prominent art dealer, managing a number of galleries in central London and latterly as Assistant Principal Curator for Harewood House Trust, a charitable educational trust and visitor attraction. Here she managed a contemporary art and historic exhibition and education programme, which included collaboration with the National Gallery and Tate.
Philippa moved into recruitment just over ten years ago building her early experience in a private sector search and selection firm. In this role she worked with a range of business from SME’s to Plc’s supporting them with their senior management and executive level recruitment needs, as well as providing management and leadership assessment. She then moved to Veredus, one of the leading providers of executive recruitment, interim management and business psychology to the public, private and not for profit sectors where as a Consultant she developed expertise in recruiting executive directors and chief executives across local and central government.
She has developed particular expertise in recruiting to Adult and Children’s Social care roles with clients including Sheffield County Council, Redcar and Cleveland Council, Northumberland County Council, the Children’s Workforce Development Council and DWP.
For the past three years as a Director at Veredus Philippa has been a key player in building and developing a successful Not for Profit Practice. Her recent track record includes working with Guide Dogs for the Blind Association to recruit their new Chairman Designate and four Trustees, ActionAid to recruit two Trustees and NSPCC to recruit an Executive Director. She has also supported a range of small to medium sized charities to recruit key Executive and Trustee roles at critical stages in their development. This includes Walsingham, a national learning disability charity who required a strong commercial Operations Director, the animal welfare charity, Compassion in World Farming where she appointed to a new role of Director of Operations/Resources and the Safer London Foundation to find a new Chief Executive to invigorate the charity.
Philippa has also worked with the two leading Student Unions – Sheffield Students’ Union and Leeds University Union to recruit their new Chief Executives. She takes an active interest in supporting civil society and volunteers for a local learning disablity charity.
